Fern Tree Holistic Therapies

It’s All about you… restoring your mind, body & soul with Reflexology & Reiki.

The pace and stresses of modern-day life are well recognised for the detrimental effect they can have on our health and overall wellbeing.

Holistic therapies are the antidote to this and are increasingly seen as being a vital part of our self-care. Step away from the hassles and stresses of everyday life as you enter the cosy and nurturing space of the garden studio. Here, you’re invited to pause, breathe, find balance, and reset as you unwind during a soothing holistic treatment.

Whether you arrive with a particular issue to focus on or wish to simply immerse in restoring tranquillity, there is a pride in the professional yet warm and friendly approach.

What can I offer you?

Holistic therapies such as Reflexology or Reiki are gentle, non-intrusive treatments which rather than focussing on an isolated symptom or condition, instead support the whole being, physically, mentally and emotionally.

Keep an eye out for additional treatments and courses coming later in the year.

Find your balance, energy & happiness the natural way.

On your way through to Fern Tree Studio Treatment Room, you will pass small fern trees dotted around the courtyard.

Ferns have a variety of symbolic meanings, placed near an entrance, they are believed to enhance and welcome positive energy. They are a powerful symbol of renewal, growth and resilience.

Their green colour is associated with healing energy whilst their gentle fronds bring a sense of shelter and calm.

These tree ferns have been knowledgeably cared for by my younger son. My eldest son took a leaf from one of these plants and with his artistic talent he developed it into my logo.

Creating a name and logo based on these calming and grounding tree ferns is a reminder of love, resilience, and a place of shelter and safety in which one can pause, breath and balance, in whatever we are currently dealing with on our journey – whatever life is throwing at us.

Helena

About Me…

My name is Helena, I am an Holistic Therapist and the founder and face behind Fern Tree Holistic Therapies.

I am fully insured and a registered member of the Association of Reflexologists and as such, I adhere to their code of ethics and commitment to demonstrate continued development and learning.

Having studied Reiki to Third Degree or Master level, I turned my sights to Reflexology to complement my Reiki practice. Qualifying as a Level 3 Reflexologist with the highly regarded Temple Academy ensured I have the theoretical and practical knowledge to provide excellent care of my clients.

My journey so far on my unfurling path has enabled me to combine a rewarding purpose in caring for others with a deepening passion for the beneficial powers and wonders of holistic treatments.

As a full member of the Association of Reflexologists, I am able to also be on the NHS list of approved and highly professional practitioners.  This is a list used by the public and health care professionals to identify highly qualified approved practitioners.

I am a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, an independent body which approves and regulates health practitioners in the UK.  Members must meet a high level of training, be fully insured to practice and follow codes of conduct and ethics.

My Journey to becoming a Practitioner…

As is often the case, it has taken a couple of life changing events to occur for me to truly reevaluate my path.

Many moons ago and with a love of all things property, I studied and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor. With the arrival of three fabulous children between 2000 and 2004, I stepped back and focussed on looking after my family.  This awoke a deep purpose inside me for supporting and caring for others.

I have had the opportunities to embrace this passion through working with amazing adults and children both as a learning support in primary school settings and as a qualified swimming instructor. Both roles have given me the privilege of supporting children and adults as they learn a new skill, work to overcome a personal challenge and celebrate with them in their achievements along the way.

With a growing awareness and personal experience of holistic therapy, out of curiosity one day I booked a Reiki treatment to see what it was all about. It was so much more than I was expecting and I have not looked back since, in my interest of all things holistic.

Over the following years I studied and progressed through three levels of Reiki training and whilst I can call myself a Reiki Master, I rarely do (I feel it implies you are an all knowing expert!). Each level of study was under the guidance of different but equally wonderful teachers and mentors. This allowed me to explore and understand different techniques, practices and to discover and evolve what felt comfortable and resonated with me in the world of Reiki.

I regularly use Reiki on myself, and family including the family dogs! It can even be practiced for the greater good of a house plant or tree!

Turning my sights to the study of Reflexology, I spent several years looking for the right course. Despite my enthusiasm to learn reflexology, the patience, research and wait for the right course was well worth it. I studied with the highly regarded Temple Academy and undertook 12 months of intensive study including Anatomy and Physiology of the body, many varied health conditions and over 100 hours of practical experience and assessments. It was a hugely rewarding achievement to pass and qualify as a Level 3 Reflexologist.
